Terracotta tiles are a natural material and will therefore vary in terms of shade and patterm.

Even though huge advances have been made in the production of ceramics around the world, the traditional Terracotta tile still has an important role to play in the marketplace.

Some companies have kept intact the the old production methods, in order to preserve the traditional essence of rustic Terracotta tiles.

The attractive, characteristic glaze of Terracotta is softer and more prone to scratching than ceramic counterparts. At DTW Ceramics we carry a natural and a ceramic Terracotta imitation tile.

Due to the manufacturing process the dimensions of Terracotta tiles are not as exact as industrially manufactured ceramic tiles - this is seen by some as part of its inherant charm.

As Terracotta floor tiles are a weaker material than ceramic and porcelain tiles, they are generally made considerably thicker.
