Warmup Undertile Heating

What is Undertile Heating?

Undertile heating is an electrical wire approximately 2mm thick supplied as Loose Wire or stuck to a Mat that is used underneath ceramic, porcelain or stone floor tiles.
The heaters consist of a fixed length of heating wire terminated at one end by a sealed joint and the other end by a 3m power supply cable (cold tail).
The cores and earth braid are spliced in a waterproof joint assembly to the supply conductors and the earth conductor of the cold tail.

Heating from the floor upwards is more efficient than a conventional radiator that can make a room feel stuffy and uncomfortable.
Undertile heating spreads warmth over the entire floor area not just in hot spots resulting in a low temperature comfortable radiant heat.
Providing adequate insulation is installed there is no need for radiators freeing up valuable wall space which is precious in a bathroom or kitchen.

Many people assume that running a whole-house electrical heating system will be costlier than their gas boiler system, simply because gas is currently cheaper than electricity. However, this is not the case...
The annual cost of using a Warmup Electric Underfloor Heating System as sole-source heating in different rooms in your home with proper insulation, and the use of zoning is surprisingly low.

How is Undertile Heating Temperature Controlled?

Our fully programmable Warmup 3IE Thermostat controls the floor temperature via a probe that is placed underneath the floor tiles so temperatures are measured at floor level not air level.

Can I use undertile heating on any floor?

You can use undertile heating over any floor but to make the floor more efficient and cost effective we strongly recommend the use insulation board before laying the undertile heating.
This can be as little as 10mm thick. See (link) for more details of our range.

Do I need specialist skills to install undertile heating?

No specialist skills are required to fix the heater to the floor.
The Warmup system is designed so that any contractor, or competent do it yourselfer, can install it.
The only part a qualified electrician must carry out is the wiring of the thermostat and floor probe.
